Blue Hippopotamus: Music

No Fear

This song is about moments of enlightenment. That feeling when everything lifts for a minute or two. The words "they rang the bells" is a reference to Mountain Day at Mount Holyoke College where I learned to meditate.

January 2009
Have you heard they just announced today
That there's nothing left to worry about
All your bills are paid
All your dreams are just around the corner
They rang the bells
You woke up to the sound
They packed your bags
And sat them on the ground
You put your hands into the air
You take a breath your mind is clear

There is nothing left to be afraid of
There is nothing left to be afraid of
There is nothing left to be afraid of
Anymore anymore

All the weight is lifted off your shoulders
And the fears of the world
Everyone is off your back now
And you're not taking anything personal
Can you believe how light life can be
Can you believe how light life can be

There is nothing left to be afraid of
There is nothing left to be afraid of
There is nothing left to be afraid of
Anymore anymore

Put your hands onto the ground
Accept the fact that you know
Nothing about anything

There is always more
Than what you can see
You are inside
A limited being

There is nothing left to be afraid of
There is nothing left to be afraid of
There is nothing left to be afraid of
Anymore anymore
