Blue Hippopotamus: Music

SuperHero

I wrote this song at a time when I was consumed by many strong, conflicting emotions. I made a move to head in one direction and I committed to that choice 100%. I put all of myself on the table, revealed every secret and pushed myself to my limit. The result felt like being saved. All the dark moved out of my life. I realized you can only tame who you really are for so long. Life is beautiful when you chase your desires. There is also a sexuality to these lyrics but I will leave that to the imagination...

Images like coins in your gut
you can't digest them
I feed you a fortune
you bleed out my secrets
you force me, I want you
love me to weakness

Push it to the limit
Push it to the edge
You know that you can't tame it
so you run it hard instead

Love got darker than I thought
Thoughts more twisted than I've seen
Scenes played out I didn't write
Right and wrong burned right through me

Push it to the limit
Push it to the edge
You know that you can't tame it
so you run it hard instead

This is what it's like with a SuperHero
Come and save me over and over
Trouble, villains, and buildings in flames
Cries for help lost under your own name

Push it to the limit
Push it to the edge
You know that you can't tame it
so you run it hard instead

This is what it's like with a SuperHero
Come and save me over and over
Trouble, villains, and buildings in flames
Cries for help lost under your own name
